 Good rainfall across four states

Good rainfall across four states

24/07/2008 10:12:00 PM
The two weather systems on the east and west coasts continued to bring good rain to rural Queensland and Western Australia, but skies started clearing on Thursday afternoon in many areas.

According to The Weather Company, widespread cloud in moist, unstable air has generated steady rain over Queensland, spreading into northeast NSW.

Cloud over WA with a cold front is causing showers, which eased as the front slipped south.

But skies remained mostly clear in many areas of South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and southern NSW, leading to frosts.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, there have been some notably big falls, especially, in Queensland.

The attached bureau map shows the rain over the past week, to 9am Thursday morning.

Good falls in the wheatbelt will be welcome, but the rain has continued to disrupt the sugar harvest underway in Queensland.
