Some isolated rain events have delivered some handy falls to a handful of agricultural regions, with Western Australia's Wheatbelt and Queensland's Darling Downs enjoying the best of it.
According to The Weather Company, cloud is blanketing southern and central WA with a trough, causing showers and a few thunderstorms.
Extensive high cloud spreading east over South Australia in jetstream winds is bringing a few areas of patchy rain.
There is cloud over western Queensland and the Northern Territory as part of another trough, which is causing some thundery showers.
However, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania remain mostly clear.
The best of the rain was in Western Australia, with the Bureau of Meteorology recording the following in the period since 9am yesterday:
• Meekatharra 16mm,
• Mount Magnet 10mm,
• Kalgoorlie-Boulder 16mm and
• Morawa 10mm.
This followed on from good falls on Tuesday and Wednesday, when the Wheatbelt in particular fared well, with falls of 10-25mm recorded.
On Queensland's Darling Down's:
• Dalby has received 23mm since 9am yesterday,
• Miles 19mm and
• Oakey 11mm, but the rest of the State was clear.
In NSW the Far North Coast received solid falls of between 10mm and 20mm, but these were restricted to the coast.
