Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson: The Max Sessions

28/11/2008 10:09:00 AM
If you've never been to a Kasey Chambers gig, watching this small event at the Opera House Studio you'll be surprised and then amused and warmed by the home gig nature of it all.

Even the once-solemn Shane Nicholson does a bit of jocularity amid the rootsy country.

And why not, when the couple recorded an album that was much better than each of their previous solo albums and sing together like their acknowledged influences - the vocally entwined pairings Gillian Welch and David Rawlings and Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons.

Good playing, very good singing. Nice all round.

Extras: Two film clips and short PR-spiel-cum-documentary.
