 New management for Barley Australia

New management for Barley Australia

31 Oct, 2009 01:00 AM
BARLEY Australia will have a new executive manager for the next 12 months, with incumbent Linda Price going on maternity leave.

Her replacement for the year will be former GrainCorp and AWB staffer Neil Barker, who has specialised in the field of grain quality.

Barley Australia was established in 2005 to provide an independent peak body for the barley industry.

It has been active in recent weeks on issues such as the carbon trading scheme and storing standards for malt barley.

Formerly, the body had industry representatives in the field, but Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) funding for these positions ran out earlier in the year and was not renewed.
