THE Federal Court of Australia today approved a scheme of arrangement enabling Canadian agribusiness Viterra to take over Australian grains marketer ABB Grain.
ABB Grain now has all the legal, regulatory and shareholder consents to merge with Viterra.
A statement by ABB to the ASX says court orders are expected to be lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) on Friday.
ABB Grain says its shares will be suspended from trading on the ASX from the close of trading on Friday (September 11).
The combined Viterra and ABB Grain is now one of the world's largest exporters of wheat, canola and barley.
Adelaide, the headquarters of ABB Grain until now, will become Viterra's headquarters in the southern hemisphere.
It will also become the worldwide headquarters for the company's malt business.
