THE M-series tractor line-up from Kubota Tractor Australia now includes a low budget model designated the 7040SUD (Special Utility) model.
Based on the company’s M40 Series range first unveiled in 2006, the company’s sales manager, Peter Gloury, says the newcomer offered price conscious buyers a budget tractor equipped a 3.3-litre Kubota diesel engine rated at 50 kilowatts (67 horsepower).
Backed up by a useful 46kW (62hp) at the PTO, its transmission comprises 8F/4R gears with synchronised shifting offered on third and fourth gears.
The 7040SUD’s shuttle lever is located on the left hand side of the seat to speed forward and reverse directional changes.
The hydraulic independent 540rpm PTO facility expands the use of these tractors to include rear mounted PTO driven implements such as rotary tillers, post hole diggers or rear mounted mowers.
The tractor’s three point hitch boasts a lifting capacity of up to 1900kg at the category 1 or 2 link ends with its gear type hydraulic pump supplying 43L/min of oil flow,.
Hydrostatic power steering is standard, with other noteworthy features a semi-flat floor, ‘hanging’ pedals, a retractable seat belt, and a foldable ROPS frame.
Kubota says the M7040SUD can be fitted with the company’s LA1153E hydraulic self-levelling loader and comes with a slanted bonnet, halogen headlights and newly designed front grille associated with its newest tractors.
