UPDATES and an expanded T6000 and Power Command tractor line-up have been announced by
New Holland.
Its range-topping 123kW (165hp) T6090 model (pictured) can boost its power up to 150kW (201hp) with Engine Power Management (EPM), thereby broadening its appeal.
New Holland says its EPM technology gives it the highest power-to-weight ratio in its market sector, delivering plenty of grunt during demanding transport, PTO and intensive hydraulic applications.
For less demanding operations, it reverts back to standard output.
The T6090, although small in its dimensions, has been engineered to allow the fitting of tyres up to 650/65 R42.
They are said to dramatically increase tyre footprint size, allowing for lower operating pressures.
Other benefits of the larger diameter tyre are increased traction, reduced wheel slip and a higher ground clearance - beneficial for baler work.
All six-cylinder models, including the new T6090 model, come with a 40kph 19 x 6 Eco Range Command transmission as standard, offering a fuel-efficient direct drive 19th gear which reduces both fuel consumption and cab noise.
The transmission operation is enhanced by the company’s Auto shifting and IntelliShift systems. These allow users to set modes for field or road, with gears changed automatically to maintain a constant speed in varying conditions and terrain.
Meanwhile, optional and packaged with electro hydraulic remote valves, the new SideWinder II armrest comes with a CommandGrip handle.
Designed to provide comfortable operation, the SideWinder II armrest controls are placed in a logical layout with the CommandGrip handle, optional joystick, EDC ‘mouse’, controls for the remote valves, front and rear pto and the IntelliView III colour touch screen neatly falling to hand.
The operator is able to operate and monitor a wide variety of implements simply by touching the screen. What used to be done with three screens is now done more easily with one. The whole armrest can be electrically adjusted by the operator for perfect positioning.
Another new feature now available with SideWinder II armrests is New Holland’s IntelliSteer guidance system that helps to ensure parallel pass-to-pass accuracy of up to 1-2cm, when using an RTK signal.
Finally, a new, larger cooling package on the T6090 has led to a completely new bonnet reshaping which continues New Holland’s purposeful design style.
Owners selecting SideWinder II T6090 models can also benefit from an optional engine exhaust brake in addition to front axle and pneumatic trailer brake options.
SideWinder II equipped models can also be specified with an electronic joystick that controls both mid- and rear-mounted remotes and further remote controls on the rear fender.
New Holland’s T6000 tractors are designed to incorporate a fully integrated, factory-fitted front linkage and PTO that offers greater capacity with category two/three lower link arms.
External raise and lower controls ease operation and the front linkage can be operated by an optional joystick, offering greater flexibility and control.
The linkage arms fold up when not in use, or when using a front end loader.
Footnote: New Holland's new T7070 Auto Command tractor has been awarded the prestigious title of Tractor of the Year for 2010 at the recent Agritechnica event in Germany, also snaring the Golden Tractor for Design award.
New Holland product performance manager for Austraslia and New Zealand, Don Forrester, said: "New Holland is proud to continually challenge the mould, coming up with smarter more advanced ways to benefit its customers. Winning the 2010 Golden Tractor Award for design at Agritechnica is yet another example of how New Holland is leading the way in its field."
The Fiat Style Centre in Turin played a key role in the tractor's ergonomic design and the styling of the new SideWinder II console, which allowed the T7070 Auto Command to obtain the Golden Tractor for Design award.
