CBH wins top gong for governance

03 Nov, 2009 02:10 PM
COOPERATIVE Bulk Handling took out the corporate governance award at last week's National Australia Bank Agribusiness Awards for Excellence.

CBH Group chief executive officer Andrew Crane said the company puts a great deal of effort into creating a workplace employees can be proud of, and has a sound governance framework.

“Winning this Oppeus International Governance Award provides recognition of the importance that CBH places on corporate governance and of the processes we have in place,” Dr Crane said.

To maintain their knowledge of the industry and group operations, directors attend regular site visits, grower meetings and conferences.

A formal appraisal system sees a comprehensive review every two years with the assistance of external advisers, providing an objective and independent insight into the overall effectiveness of the board, its committees and the individual performance of directors.
