Esperance abattoir worker killed

A MEAT works factory worker has been killed in a work-related accident in Esperance today, police have confirmed.

The 31-year-old woman was believed to have been working with machinery before she died, according to WorkSafe.

It is understood the accident took place at 10.15am today.

Perth WorkSafe investigators have been sent to the scene to investigate the circumstances but won't arrive until tomorrow.

WorkSafe WA Acting Executive Director Ian Munns said any work-related death was a tragedy, and relayed his sincere condolences to the woman's family.
