The last remaining WA farm belonging to businessman Dick Lester, Rathgar, Williams, has gone on the market this week for $17.85m, or $4246/ha.
The property comprises 4203ha next to the Williams town site on its north, east and southern sides.
There are double frontages to the Williams River, Coaling and Fitts creeks.
Mr Lester said Rathgar was a beautiful farming property that had been very sensitively cleared with appropriate conservation.
The property has been run as a mixed farming enterprise growing canola, barley and oats, with a substantial Merino flock.
Mr Lester is at the helm of the Lester Group which has core operations focussing on real estate development including broadacre residential subdivisions, commercial developments and property investments.
VNW Independent director Steve Vaughan said Rathgar may be the largest farming property in Williams, and possibly the Great Southern, to come on the market for many years.
