HOW much would you expect to pay for an exclusive one-on-one lunch at Parliament House with WA National Party leader and Regional Development Minister, Brendon Grylls?
If you were one of the 500-plus guests who attended the Nationals gala ball at Burswood Casino last Saturday night, a cheque for more than $8200 was required to secure the ministerial lunch date.
That's how much aspiring 19-year-old Queensland politician Michael Palmer parted with during a special fundraising auction held on the night.
Not that it will have much of an impact on Mr Palmer's hip pocket.
He is the son of Queensland billionaire mining magnate and National Liberal Party backer Clive Palmer.
The $8200 dished out by the son of Queensland's richest man, who was also a guest at the big event, was probably only spare change.
Michael Palmer said he was often in WA on business and had a special interest in politics and Mr Grylls.
