TO mark 25 years of White Suffolk breeding in Australia, a special commemorative sash is being awarded to the grand champion sheep at each of the major sheep shows across Australia.
Australian White Suffolk Association immediate past president Murray Long judged the breed at last week's Wagin Woolorama and was able to present the WA sash to Peter and Tiffany Nalder and family, whose Nalvin Park White Suffolk stud exhibited the grand champion White Suffolk of the show - the champion ewe.
Mr Long said the White Suffolk Association started at the Melbourne Royal Show 25 years ago when a group of breeders got together to establish it.
"The breed has come a long way in those 25 years and everyone involved with it is proud of the achievements it has made," Mr Long said.
This was the second special ribbon to be presented so far this year, with Mr Long also doing the honours at a Tasmanian show the week before the Wagin Woolorama.
