AWB 2011/12 wheat pools to close in SA and WA

09 Feb, 2012 07:00 AM
WITH harvest complete AWB will close its remaining 2011/12 season wheat pools in all South Australian and Western Australia port zones except for the Albany port zone at 5pm Friday 10th February 2012.

“Farmers planning to utilise AWB’s pools in SA and WA can still secure access by taking pool access contracts and farmers are encouraged to contact their local AWB representative, or call the AWB’s farmers services centre on 1800 4GRAIN (1800 447 246),” AWB’s Richard Williams said.

“Our pools have been well supported by Australian farmers across the wheat belt and we have kept them open as long as possible to enable farmers the maximum opportunity for flexibility in their grain marketing,” he said.

“However we need to move forward on consolidating stocks and refining our own marketing strategies, so it time for farmers to commit to any late deliveries before we close the SA and WA pools,” Mr Williams.

AWB’s 2011/12 EPRs for APW wheat is $275 a tonne and ANW noodle wheat is $290 a tonne in the WA Pool, APW is $264 a tonne in the SA Pool and $267 a tonne in the Eastern Pool (FOB, excl GST).
